Today I went to Stirling. As we went North on the M9 the temperature dropped on the read out from the car. When we stepped outside the air was so still it didn't feel cold at all. The Ochills range to the East of Stirling and the sun shone on their slopes making them glow green and brown. A trace of snow threaded along the top of one of the higher hills and a whisp of mist girdled its base.

Later I drove past Stirling Castle. From the West it sits on a high rock; majestic and watchful. And then, within blinking distance, the Wallace monument joins the castle on the Eastern view.

At the hill beyond the round-a-bout closes the motorway. The road to Bridge of Allan from here travels to the North of Stirling and beyond to a road that runs down the base of the Ochills. All the way down to Dollar. At Dollar there is a left turning to Dollar Glen. Nestled at the end of the glen is Campbell's Castle.
